Biblical Storybooks

It is useful to build a devotional program around books that present a comprehensive view of the Scriptures. This helps children learn to view the Bible as a single book. Several books are currently available to serve this purpose.

My First Bible (CPH, 2005) is designed for very young children to give them a knowledge of both the Old Testament and New Testament accounts of God’s people. The children will learn the names of the people of the Bible and with what incidents they are associated. Author: Leena Lane. Available: CPH & Amazon

The Story Bible (CPH, 2011) is designed for children of all ages. It has fuller accounts of the events which are taken directly from the Bible, as well as pictures and study aids. Three activities (Ask, Do, Pray) are associated with each story, as well as key words to learn and know. These provide for good parent-child interaction. Available: CPH & Amazon

120 Bible Stories (CPH, 2012) is similar to The Story Bible but with more mature language and questions for children ages 8 to 12. Extra features include maps and timelines. Available: CPH, Amazon & B&N

One Hundred Bible Stories (CPH, 2015) offers 50 Old Testament and 50 New Testament accounts in the words of the Scriptures, and it features questions to encourage discussion as part of family devotions. Available: CPH & Amazon/(pr&eb)
