Over the centuries many commentaries have been written on all or parts of the Bible by Lutheran authors, as well as many non-Lutheran authors. The following commentaries are soundly Lutheran and confessional.
Lutheran Bible Companion® (2-volume set) (CPH, 2014). These books give detailed background information on each book of the Bible and an outline and general discussion of its contents. It contains many historical artworks and general comments on each book by Martin Luther.

The People's Bible® (NPH, various). This is a series of 41 volumes covering all the books of the Bible. It gives commentary by groups of verses and is easy for laypeople to understand.

Reformation Heritage Bible Commentary® (CPH, various). This series of books is not yet incomplete, but it was established to give well-written commentaries on all the books of the Bible.
