This page contains two ways to assist the presenter in teaching the material from the book The Foolishness of God by Siegbert W. Becker.
The first uses 20–30-minute video introductions for the material on each topic with associated class notes. The second is for a more classic presentation with PowerPoint slides and class notes. The presenter should place the dates of the class sessions on the syllabus for the convenience of the students.
Video Chapter Introductions by Arthur Eggert.
This course presents the material from a book that discusses the anti-rationalism of Martin Luther’s theology. It grew out of Dr. Becker’s PhD thesis and a series of lectures he gave at the Pastors' Institute at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary. The book is necessary to understand the course. To gain the most from this course, it is recommended that you print out the Class Notes-V packet, do the assigned readings, and answer the study questions before each class session. The class notes contain the syllabus & questions. The Teaching Notes are enhanced class notes to aid the presenter. The chapter introductions were recorded in the spring of 2024. PowerPoint slides are provided. They are not necessary to teach the course but can be used to teach the course without the videos.
